TO ALL THE OBAMA SUPPORTERS... ANOTHER MESSAGE OF HOPE.

HOPE:
To all of you who voted for Obama. It is time to gloat and carry on like many of you did in 2006 when the Democrats took the House and Senate. I hope Obama takes the high road and doesn't tax the companies we work for into oblivian. I hope his energy plan is as sound as he says it is. I hope he really does keep his work and stay bi-partisan. I hope he does find a sensible way to leave Iraq in victory like he promised. I hope those who don't have medical care will be able to get it under his plan. I hope that he really does care about the unborn and will not continue to vote to deny babies born alive after botched abortions medical care. I do hope some of the bickering in Washington dies down. I do hope that Obama wins the long hard costly war in Afganistan which he expects will cost more lives than we lost in Iraq, We have very tough times ahead. I also hope Obama will not get treated as badly as Bush has, or burned in effigy or called "satan". I hope he sticks by his word to not change the traditional marriage definition noticing voters in FL, CA and AZ don't want it changed either. I hope he does support some form of civil union that protect medical visitation etc for all couples, I hope Obama does find a way to curb the violence in his own city of Chicago which has a higher murder rate than all of Iraq, I hope Obama does curb the greed in Washington and stops allowing banks to give money to those who can't afford to pay them back. Hope is empty unless you can give it. So to all of you who supported Obama not because he is black but because he does bring so much hope to the table. Bow down, before the one you serve...your going to get what you deserve. Obama, your messiah has come.

MCCAIN VS OBAMA DEBATE II

MCCAIN VS. OBAMA

DEBATE II OVERVIEW:

QUESTION 1:  "The world has changed a great deal and not for the better." --Brokaw
Alan Schaffer: What's the fastest most positive solution to bail these people out?"

MCCAIN
: You go to the heart of Anmerica's worries tonight. McCain says the public is angry and fearful.  I have a plan to fix this problem. Energy independence (this is key).  We have to keep all taxes low, says he doesn't want to raise taxes on anybody. Freeze non-essential spending.  We've got to have a package of reforms.  We are going to have to do something about home values.  I will the Secretary of the Treasury to buy up the bad mortgages. We must stabilize home values. I think most of us were assuming this would be about 300 billion in new spending, but McCain clarified that it would come out of the 700 billion that Congress has already approved. Obama would later say that this was his idea first but now says it's a bad idea. Who's eradic now?

Good exchange for McCain but I think many were expecting there to be fireworks from the onset.

OBAMA : Restates the obvious --worry-- talking point about "final verdict"  We have to take decisive action.  Step one make sure rescue package works. Cracking down on CEOs (people love this stuff). Middle class need a tax cut, help for homeowners, help state and local govts set up road and bridge projects. What? Obama's answer demonstrates his disconnect from the real problems.

SLIGHT EDGE TO MCCAIN.

QUESTION 2:  "Secretary of Treasury?"

MCCAIN
: Not you, Tom. Tough question. There are a lot of qualified Americans. We need someone that Americans immediately idenitfy with, that they trust. Mentions Buffett (awful pick). Mentions Meg Whitman (Eghh).  She knows how to create jobs (true). It is going to have be somebody that inspires trust and confidence.  Corruption and greed have eroded trust.

MEDIOCRE ANSWER.

OBAMA
: Warren would be a pretty good choice (again, an awful pick - copycat). Key is making sure that the next Secretary of Treasury understands that it isn't enough to help just those at the top. He might as well have said, who needs a job. We will have a Treasury that devistates the market and eliminates jobs.

WORST ANSWER OBAMA HAS GIVEN.

EDGE TO MCCAIN BUT ONLY BY DEFAULT.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

QUESTION 3
:  "Oliver Clark:  Economic crisis: Bailout practice. How will it help those people out."

MCCAIN : Refers to it as a rescue, not a bailout. Mainstreet has paid a price.  I left my campaign, suspended it. I went to make sure the tax payers were protected. (This is true).  "It will recover". The match that lit this fire was Fannie and Freddie. They were encouraged by Obama and hsi cronies and friends. They gave risky loans...some of us stood up...meanwhile Dems in senate and some Congressmen defended Fannie and Freddie.  Sen Obama was second highest recipient of Freddie and Fannie money in history. McCain says the rescue package not enough.  He then hits on his housing point again. The only problem here is that I think McCain ignored the question.

STRONG MCCAIN WIN!

OBAMA : What's in the rescue package for you? Credit markets are frozen. I have to correct Sen McCain's history.  Let's first of all understand that deregulation was biggest problem. Blasts Mccain as a deregulator (for the record let me say that regulation at least in the case of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae was the problem. Banks were forced to give loans to the poor that they could not pay). "I wrote to Secretary Paulson." Senator McCain didn't mention that the bill he talked about wasn't his bill. Obama is right on this. McCain did jump on board with a call for watching Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac to be looked at. Having said that Obama was no where to be found early on. He also states that he never promoted Fannie Mae? Even in the debate format this was a notable LIE.

OBAMA SCAMBLING TO RECOVER.

STRONG MCCAIN WIN.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

QUESTION 4:  "Brokaw: Will get much worse before it gets better?

MCCAIN
: I think it depends on what we do. We need to stabilize the housing market. This is the third time McCain has brought this up. I am hoping it resonates as a good idea, he also needs to clariy where the money is coming from. Senators and I wrote letter warning about this (Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae) and Obama's name was not on it.

STRONG MCCAIN WIN!

OBAMA : Obama really didn't get a chance to response.

NO VERDICT TO RENDER.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

QUESTION 5:  "Theresa Finch: How can we trust either of you with our money when both parties got us into this global economic crisis"

MCCAIN : Theresa, I can see why you feel that cynicism and mistrust. I have been a consistent reformer (I like the word "reformer" better than "maverick".  I have taken on the big interests.  I have a clear record of bipartisan (no one cares McCain). He has never taken on the leaders of his party.  Lets look at our records and not our rhetoric, points out some websites you can go to. Obama's is the most liberal big spending record in the Senate.  Senate Obama is proposing 860 billion in new spending....

WE HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE!

PALIN VS BIDEN

PALIN VS. BIDEN

DEBATE OVERVIEW: (I wasn’t so hot about the last debates layout so here is the new and improved coverage.)

QUESTION 1:  Bailout bill.  Worse of DC or best?

PALIN : Go to a kids soccer game on Saturday and ask them.  You will hear fear.  Fear regarding the few investments. Fear about college costs. Fear as small business owner.  The federal government has not provided the oversight.  Sarah brings up McCain’s warnings on the economy but maybe could have been stronger on this.  Praised suspension of McCain’s campaign.  Could have hit hard on Obama’s lax approach bit that may have back fired because the public didn’t seem to care.

Good start. Could have been better.

BIDEN : Brings up Obama’s ideas on how we can overcome the economic issues of today. Both Obama and McCain had similar ideas here. The point was good on Biden’s part but it was nothing special or dynamic.

TIE

QUESTION 2:  Vice President’s  Job?

PALIN : Said that John McCain's comment about the economy being strong was about and to the American workforce.  She could have hit on the fact that this was part of a speech where McCain just got done blasting Wall Street. Draws on her own record of reform.  Obama has voted along his party lines.  Obama has shown no proof of his ability to put politics aside.  Says she respects Biden’s years in the Senate, but Americans want something new.

A more solid answer than her first.

BIDEN: Attacked on McCain’s “fundamentals of the economy are strong” comment. This was about all he had on this and the American public knows McCain didn’t actually say that the way it is being portrayed.

Attack missed it’s mark.

PALIN ADVANTAGE.

QUESTION 3: Who's to blame for subprime crisis?

PALIN :  Predatory Lenders. Palin looks extremely confident.  Mentions Joe six pack/hockey moms.  Says we need to say “Never Again”. This was almost a 911 style moment and it hit home. She also mentions personal responsibility. The public will love this two-pronged answer!

Response:  Darn right we need tax relief.  Obama and Biden voted for the largest tax increases in US history. Barack 94 times voted for higher taxes (factually correct however many of these were re-votes on the same bill).  That's not what we need to bolster our economy.  Our government has to be more efficient.  Obama supported higher taxes on individuals making $42,000.00 per year (factually accurate even though Biden tried to deny it).

Palin ignores the next question - I'm still on the tax thing.  Says she is talking to the American public and may not give the answers Gwen (the moderator) or Biden want to hear:  Every year as mayor I cut taxes.  As governor we suspended state fuel tax.  As for John McCain --he pushed for tougher regulation. Look at campaign finance reform and tobacco. (this was sounding good, but Gwen cut Palin off due to time constraints).

VERY STRONG!

BIDEN : Obama warned (really, where is the YouTube on that?).  McCain "surprised." Overwhelming deregulation. Obama was talking about regulation.  John calling for deregulation.  Joe does not go into the fact that it was “over regulation” that lead to some of the problem. Banks were forced to give loans to people who could not afford them. The packaging of those loans was also deceptive however many would never have been given out under deregulation on this front. The point here is that we do need some regulation but we need it in the right areas.

John McCain voted 477 times to raise taxes (this could not be more UNTRUE).  Points out that Sarah did not answer question about deregulation.

PUZZLING AND DISHONEST RESPONSE.

ADVANTAGE PALIN!
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

QUESTION 4:  Taxes: Class Warfare?

PALIN : I do take issue with this redistribution of wealth principle. Eludes to Obama’s plan being a job killer. She could have hit on this stronger (identify the workers that would be hit).  “You said paying higher taxes is patriotic.  That's not patriotic”.  She mentions Obama’s spending promises. Somewhere in the 700 billion range.

Tepid response/ The base wants her to hit harder on this / Specifics are key.

BIDEN : Where I come from it is called “fairness”.  Middle class is struggling.  Claims no one under making under $250,000 will see a penny in tax increases. This is not punitive. I am pretty sure the use of the word “punitive” sent half of America to dictionary.com to find out what it means.

TIE

QUESTION 5:  Health Care

PALIN : Brings up the widely held position that Obama’s health care program is universal. Makes connection that we do not want government running the health care system. Her assessment in inaccurate. Obama’s health care program would be more of a hybrid. It would force businesses to provide insurance that covers pre-conditions. The problem: Barack Obama will pay for his $50 - $65 billion health care reform effort by rolling back the Bush tax cuts for Americans earning more than $250,000 per year and retaining the estate tax at its 2009 level. So basically if your company could afford to keep you with their taxes being increased, they definitely won’t be able to keep providing health care insurance. Affordability and accessibility.

Answer was good for the viewing audience but it wasn’t entirely true. Obama’s plan is WORSE than stated.
_________________________________________________________________________

BIDEN : Mentions his neighborhood Scranton, Exxon-Mobile blah blah blah. I think this was one of the few questions Biden simply didn’t answer or even come remotely close. In all fairness Sarah didn’t either but at least she warned us first. Biden really blew this answer and made just about no sense in the process. Obama’s health care plan is not something they will talk about in detail at least not in the debates.

EASY PALIN WIN!
_________________________________________________________________

QUESTION 5:  What promises will you have to revoke?

PALIN : Says McCain hasn’t made a promise he won’t keep. In turn she hasn’t made any that involve money. In all truthfulness McCain and Palin have been masterful in their approach. Their plans do not contain money we are not already spending elsewhere. She mentions breaking up oil monopolies in Alaska and giving excess profits back to the people.

BIDEN : We will have to slow down foreign assistance. We cannot slow up on health care etc. This is better than the non-answer Obama gave in the first debate.

MCCAIN VS OBAMA DEBATE 1

McCain vs. Obama Debate (1)

Friday, September 26, 2008

Question:

McCain Response:

Obama Response:

1.  Ike: "Security and solvency"  Where do you stand on financial recovery plan.
McCain opened saying the Kennedy was in the hospital. In fact he is at home. McCain called for an economic plan with transparency, oversight and possibly loans rather than a bailout so to speak. McCain also mentioned Responsibility and Accountability.

TIE
Obama called for oversight, mentioned capital gains tax. No parachute payout for CEO's and a package for homeowners. Focussed on Accountability before disaster.

TIE
2.  Fundamental differences?
McCain joked about the moderator thinking he couldn't hear Obama. McCain attacked Obama's excess spending. Approximately 1 million per day while in the Senate. McCain does not want to increase taxes on companies. McCain wins the spending debate hands down.

STRONG McCAIN WIN
Obama says he suspended earmarks. This was just to little too late. Obama tries to shift the debate to taxes and completely fails. McCain is promoting a $5,000.00 tax credit for families with children which Obama did not have a good response stating we needed to tax people who give us all jobs even more due to loop holes.

OBAMA LOSS
3.  Back to economy: "What would you give up?" to pay for fiscal crisis bill.

Regarding Obama "It is hard to reach across the aisle from that far to the left."

One for the ages!!

"I'd eliminate ethanol subsidies." Cost-plus contracts.  Specifics. Argument --strong-- from experience.

"A spending freeze on everything except defense, veterans, entitlements."

McCain brings up energy transfer and demands offshore drilling and nuclear power.  700,000 jobs in 45 nuclear power Obama fails to offer a solid response stating that he wants safe nuclear energy. He must be completely unaware of Frances safe use of nuclear power.

"I want to make sure we are not handing our health care system over to the federal government."

It is well known....I have opposed the president on spending, climate change, torture, Gitmo, conduct of Iraq War.  The American people know me very well".  Nice word for Palin.

STRONG McCAIN WIN
Obama says basically nothing even after Lehrer brings it up again. Obama doesn't seem to want a freeze of anything. He did get in a good jab at Bush but Bush isn't running so the tactic I think is kind of lost.
He does say that many of the things he would like to do as president he won't be able to do.

OBAMA DODGING THE QUESTION.
4.  Lessons of Iraq?

You cannot have a failed strategy that will then cause you to very nearly lose a conflict. You mean like Obama's who would have had us pull out of Iraq last May?

War was very badly mishandled.  In 2003 called for a new strategy.  I fought for it. Finally we came up with a great general and the strtaegy has succeeded.  We will come home wiht victory and honor.  Now that we will succeed, we will have a stable ally and a fledging democracy..

STRONG McCAIN WIN
Six years ago I opposed this war...hadn't finished the job. He says al Qaeda is stronger than ever, sights Afghanistan specifically.

We've spent over 600 billion, lost 4,000 lives, 30,000 wounded, and al Qaeda is resurgent.  We took our eye off the ball.

Salutes troops and Petraeus.  That was a tactic designed to contain the damage.   "You like to pretend the war started in 2007.  You said it was going to be quick and easy..."
Mis-represents his own time table. He obviously doesn't understand that losing in Iraq isn't going to help us win in Afganistan.

OBAMA LOSS.
5.  Troops. How many and when?

I won't repeat the mistake that I regret enormously that led to Taliban.  We can't ignore those lessons of history.

If you are going to aim a gun at somebody, you'd better be prepared to pull the trigger.  I am not prepared to threaten Pakistan.  We need the support of the people of Pakistan.  "You don't do that.  You don't say that out loud.  You work with the Pakistani governemnt."  Another sound bite moment.
Watch out for that left hook Obama you are getting jacked up.

OVERWHELMING McCAIN WIN
Obama seems lost on the situation in Pakistan. Then like a little kid brings up the fact that he has "a bracelet too" after McCain mentions a story about his bracelet and not letting our troops down.

Obama starts to backtrack, looks mad and frustrated at this point. Obama denies having threatened Pakistan.  What?

Brings up "songs about bombing Iran," apparently the candidates can not joke unless Obama approves it first.

I did like Obama's analogy of using a "scalpal instead of a hatchet" but then he immediately gave an example where he would use a hatchet?

OBAMA LOSS
6.  Iran threat.
Brings up Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Korea.  Now in NY talking about wiping Israel off the map, and we are going to sit down with a person without precondition espousing the destruction of state of Israel?

Reagan wouldn't sit down with Brez, Chern, Andropov..got to be preconditions.  Senator Obama said "without preconditions"

McCain unleashes another headline on Obama saying - "So let me get this straight, Iran says they are going to blow Israel off the face of the earth. And your response is, Oh, not your not"

"Oh please"!

If this were a boxing match they would have called the fight.

STRONG McCAIN WIN

Obama claims that McCain's own supporters say that Presidents should sit down without pre-conditions. Then states he meant that he would have "a plan". In a YouTube debate earlier this year Obama never mentions bringing "a plan".

Henry Kissinger later e-mailed CNN of all places saying he never said that a President should meet a rouge dictator without pre-conditions. FOX NEWS even went as far as to say that Kissinger was "mad" about the comment.

Obama seemed very embarrassingly off on his fact the entire night. Obama at this point almost looks as if he wants to leave the room.

OBAMA BADLY OUT-MATCHED
7. Russia
We need to bolster our firends and allies.  Russia's entering Georgia has everything to do with energy.   McCain has actually been to Georgia.  "I think the Russians ought to understand..."

Watch Ukraine, the base of the Russian fleet, names the key leaders.

We know if we drill offshore it wil help and it wil have an important effect on prices. McCain echos Palins statements last week that we do not need another Cold War.

STRONG McCAIN WIN
Obama says Russia's actions in Georgia were unwarranted and unacceptable.  They must leave.

An area I have led on in the Senate....

"I disagree with this notion that "we" did not object forcefully to invasion of Georgia"
What? Is he really paying attention a all?

OBAMA LOSS
8.  9./11 risks.
Much less than it was on 9/12.  I have worked across the aisle, after 9/11 Joe Lieberman and I decided we needed a Commission, and we were opposed by Administration and we got that legislation passed.  We have got written into law most of those reforms. Bipartisan.

McCain has a good close citing his superior experience. This is a card McCain played that it looked like Obama was shocked by.

MCCAIN WIN.

Obama says blah, blah, blah. No major differences only Obama is just looking stunned and defeated at this point. He walks around the stage with his head tilted down a bit.

His last statement is sort of a shot at America.

 OBAMA DID OKAY I GUESS.

OVERALL THIS WAS A HUGE VICTORY FOR McCAIN - CONSERVATIVES AND MANY INDEPENDANTS VERY IMPRESSED. Of course the Obama camps and some more liberal sites have Obama winning but they are not being intellectually honest.

My notes have McCain up 11 to 2 as far as the point by point goes. Question by question 7 to 0 with one tie. The American public may like Obama's comments on the economy better now but the reality is that they won't later.

ISSUES PART III.

 OBAMA/BIDEN –vs- McCAIN /PALIN

Breakdown of the latest attacks from each camp.

9/22 – MCCAIN – is now being accused by the Obama camp of “stealing (my) signs” in reference to change in Washington. Both campaigns today focusing on deep spending cuts again making it even harder for Obama to fulfill any of his campaign promises, which seems to dwindle each day. Obama himself seems to be back peddling on his own agenda to try and fit into today’s economic situation. McCain on the other hand already had cuts in mind but does seem to be struggling to find the right person or persons to blame. Both candidates are questioning the Federal Bailout plan which could total a cost of over $700 million to tax-payers and still wind up failing. With the collapse of several banks and mortgage lenders pending many in Washington feel the bailout is necessary. Others question how much more of a pounding tax-payers will be able to take.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS/ IRAQ/AFGANISTAN/ISRAEL/RUSSIA :

McCAIN/PALIN

 - Rather Than Sitting Down Unconditionally With The Iranian President Or Supreme Leader, John McCain Will Work To Create Real-World Pressures To Peacefully But Decisively Change Iran's Behavior.John McCain has been a leader on these issues, having coauthored the 1992 Iran-Iraq Arms Non-Proliferation Act. If I am not mistaken you will see Obama take a similar stance but he wants unconditional talks with Iran’s President. The McCain camp says it will apply the full force of law to prevent business dealings with Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps.John McCain joined Sens. Lieberman and John Kyl in backing an amendment calling for the designation of the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. Over three quarters of the Senate supported this obvious step, but not Sen. Obama. This is a serious step in the preservation of Israel and opens up a lot of options for the US. McCain also plans to put a A severe limit on imports of gasoline would create immediate pressure on Iran's leadership to change course, and to cease in the pursuit of nuclear weapons. I personally don’t think you stop madmen with sanctions or economic pressure. While McCain takes a tougher stance on Iran I think we can only hope this works.

McCain’s statement on Iraq leaves the matter very clear…“I do not want to keep our troops in Iraq a minute longer than necessary to secure our interests there. Our goal is an Iraq that can stand on its own as a democratic ally and a responsible force for peace in its neighborhood. Our goal is an Iraq that no longer needs American troops. And I believe we can achieve that goal, perhaps sooner than many imagine. But I do not believe that anyone should make promises as a candidate for President that they cannot keep if elected. To promise a withdrawal of our forces from Iraq, regardless of the calamitous consequences to the Iraqi people, our most vital interests, and the future of the Middle East, is the height of irresponsibility. It is a failure of leadership. “

According to the campaigns website McCain and Palin strongly supports the development and deployment of theater and national missile defenses. Effective missile defenses are critical to protect America from rogue regimes like North Korea that possess the capability to target America with intercontinental ballistic missiles, from outlaw states like Iran that threaten American forces and American allies with ballistic missiles, and to hedge against potential threats from possible strategic competitors like Russia and China. Overall McCain supports an increase in the size of military but supposedly smarter spending. This will mean that we can enter into bad equipment and technology contracts but we still have to have quality.

When it comes to Israel McCain’s stance is one of strong support however he has hardly commented on it during this campaign. Sarah Palin has a much more vocal approach and was thrilled to be invited to the “Stop Iran Now” rally until she was later un-invited (see comments under Obama’s stance). Neither candidate has commented much on Darfur however in their defense it has not been a hot topic lately. I do expect full disclosure on the matter during the debates.

Palin recently said that she would not favor a war with Russia and that all must be done to avoid one but I think all the candidates agree on this.

OBAMA/ BIDEN

-   “I am running for President of the United States to lead this country in a new direction… Instead of being distracted from the most pressing threats that we face, I want to overcome them.” This is a quote from Obama’s website. First I question the “cause” being referred to as a“distraction” that our soldiers are fighting and dying for. Really Obama, “distracted”, I’m sorry idiot, are you “distracted”. I’m sorry, let us just call our boys back before the task is complete and see how “distracted” you are then. Obama supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. He says now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. The problem with this approach is that he would have to “break” about 3 UN resolutions to accomplish this. Additionally we are talking about a country with a president that isn’t responsive to common sense or sanctions. While multi-lateral talks may help, the time for talking is and has been over for quite some time. Compared to McCain Obama’s plan is like taking a wearing a swimsuit to hockey game.

Obama and Biden say they will make progress on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict a key diplomatic priority. They will make a sustained push – working with Israelis and Palestinians – to achieve the goal of two states, a Jewish state in Israel and a Palestinian state, living side by side in peace and security. This all sounds fluffy but keep in mind Hillary Clinton pulled out of a “Stop Israel Now” rally just because Sarah Palin was invited and Obama had nothing to say about it. Does that sound like commitment to Israel (or Palestine for that matter) from the Obama campaign to you? After all, does anyone think Iran will be able to blow Israel off the face of the earth without also annihilating Palestine? Look at a map! It seems that Obama will support Israel but only if they sit still and behave while he is talking to Iran.

Obama says he will take immediate steps to end the genocide in Darfur by increasing pressure on the Sudanese and pressure the government to halt the killing and stop impeding the deployment of a robust international force. What does immediate mean? Is Obama’s force going to include American soldiers? This is a noble effort, hats off on this one, I hope this is true.

Obama and Biden also say they will secure all loose nuclear materials in the world within four years. Good luck with that. The most apparent hints that Obama will botch foreign affairs issues are that both Obama and Biden favored not extending funds to our troops. Both Obama and Biden voted against the troop surge in Iraq. Obama stated that he would bomb Pakistan ( a fractured and bleeding ally ) if necessary, etc. etc.

If Obama has said anything about Russia, it was definitely not news worthy.

more issues in the coming days..

MCCAIN / PALIN ATTEMPT TO SET ASIDE PARTISAN POLITICS IN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL DISMISSED BY OBAMA CAMP.

SUPPORT ISRAEL!

In case you haven’t had a chance to watch the news all political officials have been banned from attending a pro-Israel “Stop Iran Now” rally in NY. The move came after Hillary Clinton found out Sarah Palin had been invited and decided not to attend. Then according to top officials sponsoring the rally Obama’s team pushed for all political officials to be banned from the event to keep Sarah Palin’s continued commitment to Israel from getting any press coverage. Sarah Palin has been criticized by some far left groups for keeping a Israeli flag at her desk in Alaska. Here are a few quotes from Sarah at a rally today...

"This should be an issue that unites all Americans. Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, period," Palin said at a rally. "Unfortunately, some Democrat partisans put politics first and now no elected official can appear. This should not be a matter of partisan politics.".

"John McCain and I are committed to drawing attention to the dangers posed by Iran's nuclear program," she said, "and we will not waver in our commitment. I will continue to call for sustained action to prevent Iranian president Ahmadinejad from getting these weapons to launch a second Holocaust."

ISSUES PART II.

 OBAMA/BIDEN –vs- McCAIN /PALIN

Breakdown of the latest attacks from each camp.

9/19 – MCCAIN Is now drawing fire from Obama himself which has been a fairly new concept in the past few weeks. In fact up until Monday Palin was far more the target from the Obama camp than McCain was. As the attacks back-fired the Dems have backed off. In a statement today Obama is calling out McCain in ads that say the GOP nominee takes an "extreme position on choice" and "will make abortion illegal." He is spreading his message through low-profile radio ads and campaign mailings, though, hoping to avoid being tagged as too liberal on a woman's right to choose to end a pregnancy. The facts don’t match up as will be discussed.

INFANTICIDE /EMBRYONIC STEM CELL REASEARCH :

McCAIN/PALIN

 - This is a category where McCain not only differs with Obama but also with his running mate. McCain does support controversial and so far un-effective embryonic stem cell research however favors ending the practice if possible. With new technologies out there now that allow the cells to be harvested without killing the embryo, I am surprised this is even still coming up. However on abortion McCain feels that it should be illegal in all cases minus the life of the mother or rape. Palin feels it should be illegal regardless. Having said that Palin has not passed a single law in Alaska tightening the reigns on the abortion industry. Her critics either say she is too extreme or question her commitment on the issue. Her supporters say she is living out the sincere belief that abortion is wrong. McCain would like to have Roe vs. Wade over turned and so would both Roe and Wade by the way. He would instead like the issue turned over to each state. McCain is often mis-understood to be por-life.

OBAMA/ BIDEN

-  Have a much more liberal view on this issue.  There is little on the net regarding Barack’s Stem Cell stance. Barack Obama’s campaign has a new advertisement up that accuses John McCain of “lying” about Obama’s opposition to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, a bill to protect babies who survived abortion. I don’t recall McCain’s camp saying much on this. According to the Obama camp “John McCain attacks? The sleaziest ads ever, truly vile,”. “Now, votes taking out of context accusing Obama of letting infants die? It’s a despicable lie.” According to Amanda Carpenter of Townhall.com McCain has never hit Obama on BAIPA, but an independent group called BornAliveTruth.org has. BornAliveTruth.org has been organized to educate the public on the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act and Obama’s record opposing it. Last month, pro-lifers unearthed evidence from the Illinois state archives that showed Obama had lied about his record on the bill. The National Right To Life released a statement pinning Obama in the ominous corner of deceit on the bill. A 2003 Health and Human Services Committee report recorded by Republican committee staff. It documents a unanimous 10-0 vote by the 2003 Illinois Senate Health and Human Services Committee, which Obama chaired at the time, to amend BAIPA to include the exact same language that was added to the federal version to protect Roe v. Wade. The committee report also shows a subsequent “final action” vote to determine if the bill should advance out of committee or be killed. The bill was defeated 6-4. Chairman Obama voted in the majority.

This means that, in essence, Obama voted to successfully amend the bill in a way that Obama has said would have enabled him to support it—before he voted against it. It also puts Obama further to the left of NARAL Pro-Choice America. Obama’s direct quote on the matter - “Essentially, adding an additional doctor who has to be called into an emergency situation to come in and make these assessments designed simply to burden the original decision to induce labor and perform the abortion,” Obama said. Abortion survivor Gianna Jessen is a member of BornAliveTruth.org. She put a scorching statement up on her website reacting to Obama’s attack on her group. “Mr. Obama is clearly blinded by political ambition given his attack on me this week,” she said. “All I asked of him was to do the right thing: support medical care and protection for babies who survive abortion – as I did 31 years ago. He voted against such protection and care four times even though the U.S. Senate voted 98-0 in favor of a bill identical to the one Obama opposed. In the words of his own false and misleading ad, his position is downright vile. Mr. Obama said at the recent Saddleback Forum that the question of when babies should get human rights was above his pay grade. Such vacillation and cowardice in public policy almost left me to die and no one should have to go through what I went through.” Pro-life activist and former nurse Jill Stanek, who testified before Obama in the Illinois State Legislature after she rocked an aborted baby to his death in a soiled utility room, is also active in the group is quoted as saying “…Mr. Obama continues to mislead the American people on this issue, he voted four times against medical care and protection for babies who survive abortions in the Illinois State Senate, while the U.S. Senate was voting 98-0 to pass an identical bill…” Much of this post should be credited to reporting done by Amanda Carpenter of Townhall.com.

AN ACTUAL ISSUES POST

OBAMA/BIDEN –vs- McCAIN /PALIN

Breakdown of the latest attacks from each camp.

9/16 – OBAMA – Had a fundraiser with the Hollywood elite at $23,000.00 a plate. He raised around 9 million on the night. (The problem) How do you get the mega rich like Leonardo DiCaprio and Steven Speilburg to understand the plight of the American people when it comes to economics. Obama did not want the media on hand and probably wishes he’d timed the entire even a much better. After going back on his promise to accept only public campaign financing Obama is now forced to try and raise in excess of $85 million a month to keep up with McCain (who did accept public financing). The difference between the camps is that Obama has full control over any money he raises. McCain’s public financing is controlled by the RNC and is usually distributed among the parties candidates in state to state races.

ECONOMICS/TAXES :

McCAIN/PALIN

- The plan is to keep corporate taxes low. The theory here is that the more money companies keep, the more they will pass on to the work force in the form of raises and job creation. Under a McCain administration the hope is to create new industries especially in the areas of alternative energy and the technology it will take to utilize it. In light of recent woes on Wall Street the Obama camp says McCain’s is too little to late. This is actually an inaccurate portrayal of his stance because McCain has been bringing up his concern about the casino like atmosphere in the stock market since 2005 (and has been ignored). So much for “no spin” commentator Bill O’Reily’s claim that “no one” was watching out for us. Overwhelmingly economic experts favor McCain’s plan for our economy over Barak Obama’s. Even Donald Trump (whom I have no opinion on either way) is touting both McCain and Palin as being far more fit to lead the country in the right economic direction than Obama. The McCain plan also brings back some oversight on the economy that was lifted by President Clinton and his officials back in 1999. When it comes to taxes McCain also says he wants to increase the “child tax credit” to $7,000.00 per child from the $3,000.00 per child it is now. While this would have a profound effect on me personally I am not sure he will be able to pull it off in this economic climate. He may be able to get it done before his term is up. He plans to pay for some of his more lofty plans but cutting funding to countries that hate us. It is estimated countries that are at the very least are “un-friendly” to us receive about $700 billion dollars of taxpayer money each year.

OBAMA/ BIDEN

-  Wants to raise taxes on those making $250,000.00 or more a year. This would likely dig into your 401K in ways they are talking about. First companies will have to cut jobs to afford this new tax. Those who try not to cut jobs will have to cut payroll. In turn the profits of the companies will likely go down decreasing the value of their stock. Because 80% (at least) of those who work have some sort of 401K that relies on stocks, your portfolio will start to go down. Obama did admit this week that raising taxes at this time would not be good due to economic concerns. Having said that he is going to need money from somewhere to pay for his lofty ambitions if he gets in the White House (ie, $50 billion dollars for each state, Govt’ Health Care etc.). Democrats (with maybe the exception of Clinton) are historically week on economic principal. Recently VP Democratic nominee Joe Biden called the rich paying higher taxes the “patriotic” thing to do. They already pay over 50% of all taxes. The Tax Policy Center has concluded that 3 out of 4 families that make less than $250,000.00 a year would get tax cuts under Obama. Skeptics say this is the same sort of thing we have heard from the Democrats before and it didn’t pan out well then.

KILL ALL THE WOMEN!!

OBAMA CAMP PROMISES BLOOD...

Well the sparks are flying again in the political world. In light of McCain’s slight lead in the only major poll that had him trailing in recent days the attacks from the left have really ramped up against McCain? Well not really, apparently Sarah Palin his running mate is the one driving them crazy. The latest is that Sarah Palin (Republican nominee for VP) is being accused of trying to ban books while she was Mayor of Wasilla, AK. The truth is that she did have the librarian fired for 2 days be re-instated her after some public outcry. The temporary release of the librarian had nothing to do with Sarah’s inquiry on how to ban books. Additionally the librarian went on working at the library for 2 more years after this all happened. In Wasilla at the time banning certain books was a hot button issue touted by it’s citizens and Sarah was merely inquiring if it could even be done. To top it off, they were circulating a fake list of books Sarah supposedly wanted banned. The list included the first Harry Potter book which wasn’t even written at the time.

Yesterday morning Sarah’s son Track left to fight in Iraq (pardon the rhyme) and is being rumored to have left due to a plea agreement he made because of a vandalism issue that occurred when he was in High School. The problem, according to the boys that actually were punished for the crime, Track wasn’t even there.

And to try and put more logs on the fire Sarah Palin’s husband may be asked to testify against her if the now famous Troopergate scandal ever leads to court. Sarah is accused of abuse of power when she tried to have a state trooper fired. It is true that her sister and this trooper were going through a nasty divorce.  The Palin family claims he attempt to fire him had to do with the fact that this same trooper had made threats to Palin’s family and admitted to using a Tazer gun on his 10 year old son. This story is actually old news now. By the way, the investigation into the Troopergate scandal was launched by Sarah Palin herself who said that she wanted to be held accountable. This is the first time in history any Governor has made such a move and shows Palin is confident she’s done nothing wrong. Certainly politicians like “Clinton” have side-stepped much larger landmines.

Sarah was interview by Charles Gibson on ABC News this weekend and there are a number of issues brought up about that as well including the fact that she seemingly didn’t know what Charlie was asking about when he mentioned “The Bush Doctrine”. When the question was clarified she answered it directly however Charlie himself seemed to be confused as well. According to Google there are at least 5 very credible answers to what the so called “Bush Doctrine” could be. Charlie’s explanation of what is was is only part of one of those answers.

Gibson also seemed to know he’d been caught in a lie when he asked Palin if she thought it “was God’s plan for us to go to war in Iraq”. Palin stated that she didn’t think that was a direct quote of hers. Gibson replied “it’s a direct quote”. Later the video of her talking about this revealed that not only was he lying about the quote but that he took it out of context as well. She actually was saying that she “prays, that we are doing God’s will concerning the war in Iraq”.

When questioned if we should go to war with Russia if things got worse Palin replied “perhaps so”. Obama told Bill O’Reily last week that we needed to be humble when approaching “evil” (in other countries). To paraphrase talk show host Laura Ingram it would be Like if we just give “evil” a good talking to, it will finally start behaving. She also stated that Russia “provoked” Georgia. The media is asking (in a condescending way) how Russia could have provokes a war between two factions in Georgia itself. However Palin was right. Russia did invade Georgia to take strategic oil territory over in Georgia and side with the socialist portion of Georgia that wanted to split. It would be kind of like if Canada took sides in our Civil War and then suddenly showed up with huge tanks to ensure that the South won. So yes, Russia is “provoking” Georgia. To this date, they still haven’t fully withdrawn.

Back to the Obama camp if they make any real news before the election. They are saying they will “take the gloves off” in the coming days. The McCain camp is hoping they will. The attacks on Palin has only given more rapid rise to her popularity which is now far above even Obama’s. The Associated Press (who HATES Sarah) has even finally acknowledge that the Palin is the focal point of this campaign. At least right now, if the Democrats don’t kill a very large number of women, McCain is going to be our next president.

Liberals... "WhySo Serious...."

LIBERALS ATTEMPT TO DESTROY TURNS ON FAITH THEY NEED TO WIN:

Recent attacks on VP pick for the Republican Party Sarah Palin have come to a boiling point. Some so grotesque and inflammatory that I will not even address them here. So I am going to examine them in generalities. Oh and by the way…some of you may be wondering “why no posts on McCain”. Well it is obvious that the left is so afraid of Palin that she is the main topic. After all, they didn’t have a solid attack on McCain to go from anyway.

Accusation: Palin is radical because of her faith.

Truth: Barak Obama has spent almost a year trying to convince us that he is a Christian, you know, just like Sarah Palin. Secondly, I am not a charismatic person and I think there may be some fluff in the charismatic churches out there. Having said that, if you believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior I don’t give a flying liberal if you want to give a hallelujah shout or speak in tongues as long as you are genuine. If the church is off base, shouldn’t the church deal with it. After all the Liberals want separation of church and state don’t they? Obama should be praising those who share his faith. He serves the same God (we think). We don’t really want to compare Palin’s church with Obama’s do we?

Accusation: Palin was for the bridge to no where before she was against it.

Truth: Yes this is true. However she was ultimately credited by a Democratic website for stopping the project as well as everyone involved. So her “thanks but no thanks” claim is a matter of fact and public record on both sides.

Accusation: Pailin fired a librarian for not getting rid of certain books in the library.

Truth: The librarian resigned for unspecified reasons 2 years after Palin took office as governor.

There are more, all lies or half the truth. It is amazing how much this race has changed. We will have to see if Palin holds up in the debate with Biden (October 2nd) and how she handles some of her media interviews. My guess is that both are in for a surprise and that it will only strengthen the ticket further.

BREAKDOWN OF SARAH PALIN's speech...

SARAH PALIN ROCKS CONVENTION : And The Rest Of the Country.

TWO POUND RADIO : (that's me) Lets be intellectually honest. If you are a Republican and you are not on fire right now for the McCain/ Palin vote you haven’t been paying attention. Here is my commentary on her convention speech. Palin is now more popular that both Obama and McCain in recent polls. For GOOD reason and a humble, real and yet aggressive approach.

PALIN : Mr. Chairman, delegates, and fellow citizens: I am honored to be considered for the nomination for Vice President of the United States...

I accept the call to help our nominee for president to serve and defend America.

I accept the challenge of a tough fight in this election... against confident opponents ... at a crucial hour for our country.

TWO POUND RADIO: A critical hour in which Obama wants to sit down and have coffee with madmen. On O’Reily Thursday night he talked tough but has “zero” credibility on defense.

PALIN : And I accept the privilege of serving with a man who has come through much harder missions ... and met far graver challenges ... and knows how tough fights are won - the next president of the United States, John S. McCain.

It was just a year ago when all the experts in Washington counted out our nominee because he refused to hedge his commitment to the security of the country he loves.

TWO POUND RADIO : I have to raise my hand here. Even though I live in AZ, it looked like McCain was going to bow out early. The news out here was very dim.

PALIN : With their usual certitude, they told us that all was lost - there was no hope for this candidate who said that he would rather lose an election than see his country lose a war.

But the pollsters and pundits overlooked just one thing when they wrote him off.

TWO POUND RADIO : TRUTH

PALIN : They overlooked the caliber of the man himself - the determination, resolve, and sheer guts of Senator John McCain. The voters knew better.

And maybe that's because they realize there is a time for politics and a time for leadership ... a time to campaign and a time to put our country first.

Our nominee for president is a true profile in courage, and people like that are hard to come by.

He's a man who wore the uniform of this country for 22 years, and refused to break faith with those troops in Iraq who have now brought victory within sight.

TWO POUND RADIO : TRUTH

PALIN : And as the mother of one of those troops, that is exactly the kind of man I want as commander in chief. I'm just one of many moms who'll say an extra prayer each night for our sons and daughters going into harm's way.

Our son Track is 19.

And one week from tomorrow - September 11th - he'll deploy to Iraq with the Army infantry in the service of his country.

My nephew Kasey also enlisted, and serves on a carrier in the Persian Gulf.

My family is proud of both of them and of all the fine men and women serving the country in uniform. Track is the eldest of our five children.

In our family, it's two boys and three girls in between - my strong and kind-hearted daughters Bristol, Willow, and Piper.

And in April, my husband Todd and I welcomed our littlest one into the world, a perfectly beautiful baby boy named Trig. From the inside, no family ever seems typical.

That's how it is with us.

Our family has the same ups and downs as any other ... the same challenges and the same joys.

Sometimes even the greatest joys bring challenge.

And children with special needs inspire a special love.

TWO POUND RADIO : TRUTH, my son has mild-grad autism and mild-grade cerebral palsy. This hits home. 1 in ever 150 children born has autism. Every year in the U.S. about 4 million babies are born. Of these, 5,000 have Down’s Syndrome, 1,500 have Spina Bifida and 2,000 have Cystic Fibrosis. JAMA, Apr. 10, 1991, Vol. 265, No. 14, pp. 1797-8 CDC -MMWR, Apr. 21, 1989, Vol. 38, No. 15, p. 264Med. Tribune, May 15, 1989, Vol. 30, No. 14, p. 1

PALIN : To the families of special-needs children all across this country, I have a message: For years, you sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters.

I pledge to you that if we are elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House. Todd is a story all by himself.

He's a lifelong commercial fisherman ... a production operator in the oil fields of Alaska's North Slope ... a proud member of the United Steel Workers' Union ... and world champion snow machine racer.

TWO POUND RADIO : The last part about special needs really struck a cord. I think the Dems way under-estimate how many American families face this unique challenge/blessing.

PALIN : Throw in his Yup'ik Eskimo ancestry, and it all makes for quite a package.

We met in high school, and two decades and five children later he's still my guy. My Mom and Dad both worked at the elementary school in our small town.

And among the many things I owe them is one simple lesson: that this is America, and every woman can walk through every door of opportunity.

My parents are here tonight, and I am so proud to be the daughter of Chuck and Sally Heath. Long ago, a young farmer and habber-dasher from Missouri followed an unlikely path to the vice presidency.

A writer observed: "We grow good people in our small towns, with honesty, sincerity, and dignity." I know just the kind of people that writer had in mind when he praised Harry Truman.

TWO POUND RADIO : This also hit home with a lot of people. Everyone wanted to get to know her better. This entire portion of the speech was amazingly well said and lit a fire under Republicans sick of the media’s attacks on her. As of Friday morning the attacks continued. What was Obama’s solution – trot out Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano and Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. By they way—none of these women are fresh or new. Accomplished yes (except for Janet who is well known as a complete failure as Gov. in a number of areas including one massive blunder in approving a memorial to 911 being built here in Phoenix. The memorial’s approved design included shots at the military. When confronted about the structure Napolitano claimed she had nothing to do with the design even though she was in charged of the committee that put it together. )

PALIN : I grew up with those people.

They are the ones who do some of the hardest work in America ... who grow our food, run our factories, and fight our wars.

They love their country, in good times and bad, and they're always proud of America. I had the privilege of living most of my life in a small town.

I was just your average hockey mom, and signed up for the PTA because I wanted to make my kids' public education better.

TWO POUND RADIO : How many mothers can identify with this--- probably 100’s of thousands.

PALIN : When I ran for city council, I didn't need focus groups and voter profiles because I knew those voters, and knew their families, too.

Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown.

And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves.
I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer,"

TWO POUND RADIO :  “community organizer” is one of Obama’s well known claims to fame when it comes to experience?

PALIN : ...except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don't quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren't listening.

TWO POUND RADIO : Obama’s campaign trail has been plagued with major miss steps and miss statements.

PALIN : We tend to prefer candidates who don't talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.

As for my running mate, you can be certain that wherever he goes, and whoever is listening, John McCain is the same man. I'm not a member of the permanent political establishment.
And I've learned quickly, these past few days, that if you're not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.

TWO POUND RADIO : As I mentioned in my last post it is fairly amazing the amount of fire Sarah Palin has received if she isn’t really a threat at all to the Democrats?

PALIN : But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people.

Politics isn't just a game of clashing parties and competing interests.

The right reason is to challenge the status quo, to serve the common good, and to leave this nation better than we found it.

TWO POUND RADIO : TRUTH , This part of the speech was amazing. I sincerely believe that Sarah has come into this with the correct and right intentions.

PALIN : No one expects us to agree on everything.

But we are expected to govern with integrity, good will, clear convictions, and ... a servant's heart.

I pledge to all Americans that I will carry myself in this spirit as vice president of the United States. This was the spirit that brought me to the governor's office, when I took on the old politics as usual in Juneau ... when I stood up to the special interests, the lobbyists, big oil companies, and the good-ol' boys network.

TWO POUND RADIO : Not even the fact checkers posting rebuttals to the speech could find ANYTHING to disprove this.

PALIN : Sudden and relentless reform never sits well with entrenched interests and power brokers. That's why true reform is so hard to achieve.

But with the support of the citizens of Alaska, we shook things up.

And in short order we put the government of our state back on the side of the people.

I came to office promising major ethics reform, to end the culture of self-dealing. And today, that ethics reform is the law.

While I was at it, I got rid of a few things in the governor's office that I didn't believe our citizens should have to pay for.

That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay.

TWO POUND RADIO : Not only is this TRUTH, it drew massive applause.

PALIN : I also drive myself to work.

TWO POUND RADIO : I doubt that will happen again if she gets to the White House.

PALIN : And I thought we could muddle through without the governor's personal chef - although I've got to admit that sometimes my kids sure miss her. I came to office promising to control spending - by request if possible and by veto if necessary.

Senator McCain also promises to use the power of veto in defense of the public interest - and as a chief executive, I can assure you it works.

Our state budget is under control.

We have a surplus.

TWO POUND RADIO : TRUTH. No one has been able to refute this portion of the speech either. No one credible or reliable anyway.

PALIN : And I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending: nearly half a billion dollars in vetoes.

I suspended the state fuel tax, and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress.

I told the Congress "thanks, but no thanks," for that Bridge to Nowhere.

If our state wanted a bridge, we'd build it ourselves. When oil and gas prices went up dramatically, and filled up the state treasury, I sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged - directly to the people of Alaska.

TWO POUND RADIO : Some have stated that she originally favored the bridge. However doesn’t the final decision count when you are in charge. After all, if she really wanted it, wouldn’t it be there?

PALIN : And despite fierce opposition from oil company lobbyists, who kind of liked things the way they were, we broke their monopoly on power and resources.

As governor, I insisted on competition and basic fairness to end their control of our state and return it to the people.

I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history.

And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence.

That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart.

TWO POUND RADIO : No credible source had comment on any of this either.

PALIN : The stakes for our nation could not be higher.

When a hurricane strikes in the Gulf of Mexico, this country should not be so dependent on imported oil that we are forced to draw from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

And families cannot throw away more and more of their paychecks on gas and heating oil.

With Russia wanting to control a vital pipeline in the Caucasus, and to divide and intimidate our European allies by using energy as a weapon, we cannot leave ourselves at the mercy of foreign suppliers.

To confront the threat that Iran might seek to cut off nearly a fifth of world energy supplies ... or that terrorists might strike again at the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia ... or that Venezuela might shut off its oil deliveries ... we Americans need to produce more of our own oil and gas.

And take it from a gal who knows the North Slope of Alaska: we've got lots of both.

TWO POUND RADIO : Another really really strong TRUTH.

PALIN : Our opponents say, again and again, that drilling will not solve all of America's energy problems - as if we all didn't know that already.

TWO POUND RADIO : Brilliant I say!!

PALIN : But the fact that drilling won't solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all.

Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we're going to lay more pipelines ... build more new-clear plants ... create jobs with clean coal ... and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal, and other alternative sources.

TWO POUND RADIO : “Create Jobs” Hmm, I thought Obama said the Republicans had nothing to say about the economy?

PALIN : We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers. I've noticed a pattern with our opponent.

Maybe you have, too.
We've all heard his dramatic speeches before devoted followers.

And there is much to like and admire about our opponent.

But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate.

TWO POUND RADIO : Some sights are saying that Obama has actually worked on important laws and reform. However none can sight more than 2. Even those are subject to debate as to their being “major” and any sightings do not go on to tell you if other versions of the same law, bill etc. were already being considered.

PALIN : This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory" except when he's talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed ... when the roar of the crowd fades away ... when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot

TWO POUND RADIO : Yes, Obama’s speech was a bit much but even I was impressed with his delivery and I think he is going to ruin this country.

PALIN : - what exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger ... take more of your money ... give you more orders from Washington ... and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it.

Victory in Iraq is finally in sight ... he wants to forfeit.

TWO POUND RADIO :  Dems have a vetting interest in failure. After all, if Bush and McCain even look right about the war this election is over.

PALIN : Terrorist states are seeking new-clear weapons without delay ... he wants to meet them without preconditions.

Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America ... he's worried that someone won't read them their rights?

TWO POUND RADIO : Amazing line!

PALIN : Government is too big ... he wants to grow it.

Congress spends too much ... he promises more.

Taxes are too high ... he wants to raise them. His tax increases are the fine print in his economic plan, and let me be specific.

The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes ... raise payroll taxes ... raise investment income taxes ... raise the death tax ... raise business taxes ... and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars. My sister Heather and her husband have just built a service station that's now opened for business - like millions of others who run small businesses.

How are they going to be any better off if taxes go up? Or maybe you're trying to keep your job at a plant in Michigan or Ohio ... or create jobs with clean coal from Pennsylvania or West Virginia ... or keep a small farm in the family right here in Minnesota.

How are you going to be better off if our opponent adds a massive tax burden to the American economy? Here's how I look at the choice Americans face in this election.

TWO POUND RADIO : I work for a company in the range that Obama wants to raise taxes on. I can tell you first hand that at this point it would be “DEVISTATED” by even further loss when it is just now getting out of the red.

PALIN : In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers.

And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.

They're the ones whose names appear on laws and landmark reforms, not just on buttons and banners, or on self-designed presidential seals.

TWO POUND RADIO : Obama openly removed an American flag from his plane to put a seal his team designed in it’s place.

PALIN : Among politicians, there is the idealism of high-flown speechmaking, in which crowds are stirringly summoned to support great things.

And then there is the idealism of those leaders, like John McCain, who actually do great things. They're the ones who are good for more than talk ... the ones we have always been able to count on to serve and defend America. Senator McCain's record of actual achievement and reform helps explain why so many special interests, lobbyists, and comfortable committee chairmen in Congress have fought the prospect of a McCain presidency - from the primary election of 2000 to this very day.

Our nominee doesn't run with the Washington herd.

He's a man who's there to serve his country, and not just his party.

A leader who's not looking for a fight, but is not afraid of one either. Harry Reid, the Majority Leader of the current do-nothing Senate, not long ago summed up his feelings about our nominee.

He said, quote, "I can't stand John McCain." Ladies and gentlemen, perhaps no accolade we hear this week is better proof that we've chosen the right man. Clearly what the Majority Leader was driving at is that he can't stand up to John McCain.

TWO POUND RADIO : Another brilliant part of the speech. Congress currently has the lowest approval rating in history.

PALIN : That is only one more reason to take the maverick of the Senate and put him in the White House. My fellow citizens, the American presidency is not supposed to be a journey of "personal discovery." This world of threats and dangers is not just a community, and it doesn't just need an organizer.

And though both Senator Obama and Senator Biden have been going on lately about how they are always, quote, "fighting for you," let us face the matter squarely.

There is only one man in this election who has ever really fought for you

TWO POUND RADIO : This was a good line, but you can’t run with it too long. Voters know Obama is talking about a different kind of fighting.

PALIN : ... in places where winning means survival and defeat means death ... and that man is John McCain. In our day, politicians have readily shared much lesser tales of adversity than the nightmare world in which this man, and others equally brave, served and suffered for their country.

It's a long way from the fear and pain and squalor of a six-by-four cell in Hanoi to the Oval Office.

But if Senator McCain is elected president, that is the journey he will have made.

It's the journey of an upright and honorable man - the kind of fellow whose name you will find on war memorials in small towns across this country, only he was among those who came home.

To the most powerful office on earth, he would bring the compassion that comes from having once been powerless ... the wisdom that comes even to the captives, by the grace of God ... the special confidence of those who have seen evil, and seen how evil is overcome. A fellow prisoner of war, a man named Tom Moe of Lancaster, Ohio, recalls looking through a pin-hole in his cell door as Lieutenant Commander John McCain was led down the hallway, by the guards, day after day.

As the story is told, "When McCain shuffled back from torturous interrogations, he would turn toward Moe's door and flash a grin and thumbs up" - as if to say, "We're going to pull through this." My fellow Americans, that is the kind of man America needs to see us through these next four years.

For a season, a gifted speaker can inspire with his words.

For a lifetime, John McCain has inspired with his deeds.

If character is the measure in this election ... and hope the theme ... and change the goal we share, then I ask you to join our cause. Join our cause and help America elect a great man as the next president of the United States.

Thank you all, and may God bless America.

TWO POUND RADIO : This is the first and only speech I will tackle this election. I will try to provide commentary on the debates as well. Thanks for reading.

HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT OBAMA LATELY?

HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT OBAMA LATELY?

As you can tell by my last blog date I have taken hundreds of years off from dealing with anything political in writing. Having said that I have posted a ton of poetry elsewhere on the net (Shameless plug) at www.myspace.com/twopoundradio under the name “Dark 30”. Having said that let me just state that if you read this you can be guaranteed that John McCain did not inspire me to write anything here. Sarah Palin did. I AM NOW HAPPY TO VOTE REPUBLICAN. Until McCain’s talk a few weeks ago with Rick Warren and now the VP pick of Sarah Palin I am going to vote excitedly and I think all Americans who care about life as we know it here in America should as well. When it comes to executive decision making and a record of accomplishments Sarah Palin (despite what the skeptics are saying ) has more experience than Obama, Biden and even John McCain combined.

Recently issues about Sarah Palin’s 17 year old daughter have surfaced. The issue with the media is not the families committed support of their pregnant (soon to be married) daughter  but the ability of Sarah herself to lead. Dems act as if they have some kind of freaking mind-power over their own kids that enables them not to make mistakes, learn from them and watch them turn into blessings. After all in 1 year will anyone be referring to Sarah Palin’s grand daughter as a “mistake”? How about in 10 years?

It is very likely that this whole story is going to be a conduit to Obama’s own mother who had him at the age of 18 but got pregnant when she was 17 depending on who you talk to. Obama himself has been commendable in stating that families are off limits however PALIN DOES NOT NEED OBAMA’s SYMPATHY. She has been in dog fights before and this is unlikely to shy away from anything that comes up. After all, we don’t really want to get into the private lives of the DEMS do we?

I was almost in tears when Palin was announced because it gave me faith once again that this party (THE REPUBLICAN PARTY) has a good man on their hands with John McCain and he made a wise choice for VP. While I am no huge fan of McCain I am slowly changing my mind. As Republicans we need him to win this thing. So if you are not on board… get on!

In the meantime I can't say I have heard anything about Obama in the last few days. Nothing about how great his speach was, nothing about his campaign picking up steam, nothing about how his ticket has sealed the deal and the Republicans are finished. Why? Perhaps the thing mentioned to little is the very serious threat Palin poses to the Dems. After all would they really be going through this much trouble to make a non-issue into an issue if she wasn't?

Bill O'Reily, Biblical Idiot..

Bill O Reily just made the statement that he thinks Mathew Chapter 18:15-17's clear teaching on church discipline is "bull".

You know, for someone who claims to be Catholic, I don't blame him. You have to completely skip this verse to be Catholic. As for calling the words of Jesus "bull", that my friends is for O' Reily and Jesus to talk about later.

Bill, I love your show, but sometimes you sound like you have lost your mind.
